Im going to Texas in May to watch a soccer game in Houston (Reliant Stadium) i was thinking instead of staying in houston, maybe Galveston will be fun? its not too far right? ive never been there, but i went on their website, and i think it will be more fun then houston. am i wrong???? im also in love with 3 hotels! (just from seeing pics from the sites) the st luis, mooody gardens, and hotel galvez….. which one is the nicest???? they are all around same price, so i want the nicest room/ pool/ restaurant. do u think i should even stay in galveston? it will be me and my boyfriend’s 1st vacation without our daughter, so we want something fun!!!
I love the San Luis. Moody Gardens is a mini Disneyworld & the Galvez was hit pretty bad during Ike so I would check on it’s status.

I live in Houston and I go visit my grandma in Galveston every weekend. I would personally rather stay in Houston. Galveston is about 45 minutes to an hour away from Reliant Stadium, with no traffic. Houston is also much nicer and cleaner. If you insist on staying in Galveton, Moody Gardens is my favorite place. They have stuff for kids there, also. It has three pyramids with different things for kids to look at and participate in each, like an aquarium, butterfly exhibit, etc.

Moody gardens is kinda like an amusement park and is located a little bit further away from the main part of Galveston.
the san luis is very nice with modern decor and nice pool. Located near good restaurants.
The Galvez is a very nice, historic hotel, very elegant.
Galveston would be a fun place to stay. About one hour drive from Reliant stadium. The Rodeo will let out late so it will be after midnight by the time you get back to Galveston. Don’t drink and drive.
