Continental Airlines – Boeing 757-300 – Takeoff from Los Angeles Int’l

Continental Airlines flight 394 from Los Angeles to Houston – Bush Int’l. Here’s my departure from LAX Gate 60, departing on runway 25R.

We were number 2 for departure behind a United A320 (I believe) with registration number N471UA. These 757′s have some grunt as they achieve speed pretty fast.

    @SilverService832 757′s have the highest resale value of any other aircraft due to its capacity, thrust/weight ratio, and maintenance. I’d get rid of any Airbus, their fuel management systems fail periodically, and those A320′s have serious problems. The A330′s are crashing left and right, I wouldn’t trust them!! Can’t beat Boeing, as American as an American muscle car!

    not an a320, cal doesn’t fly a320 at all .. this is a 757-200/300 one or the other.

After I graduate High school I’m going to go to a flight school and become an airline pilot.Hopefully all the airlines don’t go bankrupt that would really suck lol!And don’t worry your not alone I am a plane freak to(especially airliners…)LOL!!!Anyway good luck with your dream!!!

    thx! for the info!~ this is what i do in my spare time, i set up a bunch of chairs in my house so that there are 3 on each side and i go onto youtube and find a plane video of the announcements and stuff. then i pretend to be a flight attendant … it embrasseng i know, but i kinda want to be a flight attendant

    I’m not completely sure. Either its “testing” or its caused by the cockpit systems coming online as the crew start up the plane.

    Another possibility could be that the cockpit is trying to contact the cabin crew…kinda like the phone ringing.

    ohhhhhh, ok, lol some guy on another video said that is was the flaps. and another thing, what do the high low double chimes me when you are siting at the gate??? cuz when i was in ca at the airport i was the first one on and the chimes came on

    The chimes are to alert the cabin crew to “be seated” or not. The dings before takeoff mean that the cabin crew MUST take seats because the plane will be taking off.

    You will hear a 2nd ding after takeoff indicating to the crew that cruising altitude has been reached and its ok to walk about.

    The dings are basically alerts for the crew and depending when you hear them, they know what its for.
