    Look, if you want to clap at the end of a flight, that is certainly your prerogative.

    I don’t like it, and I think it isn’t professional. Others will disagree, and that is fine.

    Flying, at least from the flight crew’s perspective, is routine, whether you want to believe it or not.

    Honestly, as a pilot myself (although I don’t work for any airline, I am only a CFI), I think clapping is an insult to the skill and professionalism of the flight crew. To me, it implies that a successful conclusion to the flight was not to be expected.

    Also, your sweeping generalization of Americans is not only ridiculous, but untrue.

    What an asinine post.

    Not typical around here. People aren’t as friendly, and they always expect a good outcome. People in Europe, are civilized, and much nicer than Americans. I am European :)
