Carnival Cruise Ecstasy sharp turn injures dozens of passengers and crew

April 21, 2010 the Ecstasy made a sharp turn at sea to avoid a wayward buoy. The ship listed to port hard causing dozens of injuries and traumatizing many more. What the news showed was only part of the story, this is the REST of the story told from passengers who survived this incident.

Cruise guests recount ship listing after emergency turn

The Carnival cruise ship Ecstasy made an emergency maneuver Wed., April 21, 2010, to avoid an adrift buoy, causing the ship to list and injuring 60 guests. None of the injuries were life-threatening, the cruise line said.

Port of San Diego and Holland America Kick Off Ship to Shelter Program

Port Matters: Episode 1. A new program to help those in need kicked off along the Embarcadero on March 6, 2009. The Port of San Diego is participating with Holland America Line’s Ship to Shelter program, a philanthropic endeavor which donates items from cruise ships to homeless shelters.
