Tracking Hurricane IKE

On Thursday September 11, 2008 Harris County officials issued a mandatory evacuation order for residents living in the following ZIP codes: 77058, 77059, 77062, 77520, 77546, 77571, 77586 and 77598.

Hurricane Ike currently a category 2 going towards Galveston, TX.

Galveston already flooded in most parts.

    They had 2 days not 1 week…oh and Rita most people spent 48 hours or more in a car so I probably would have stayed there if I didn’t move. My mom stayed.

    Most people I heard that were staying said that they were just tired of fleeing.. hope everyone who stayed in galveston are okay. I live in katy, definately feeling very strong winds..

    I live in FL. We have been inundated with hurricanes. If we are told to flee, we do.

    There were mandatory evacuations in Galveston. Why oh why did some, many I read, not evacuate? Was it complacency? I do not understand.

    Man, I’m gunna miss Galveston. Sure, it will get rebuilt (I hope!!) but it won’t be the same. Gunna miss shopping at the strand, going over to Mermaid Pier, and Merdochs, stayin at the galvez…the crappy beach lol, fun fun fun…FUCK IKE anyone that stayed in galveston is predicted certain death :(

    I heard about 40% of Galveston decided to stay. They have no idea how bad it’s going to get. Couldn’t believe the idiots driving down Seawall Blvd. while the ocean was crashing over the wall and onto the road!

    I live on the west …
    I live on the west end of galveston.. I’m glad we got out of there we were planning on sticking the storm out… I know where these houses are in this video i don’t live too far away.. =[
